FESTIVAL MILONGAS & MAESTROS & VENUE

FESTIVAL MILONGAS

This will be the fourth edition of the Spring Festival in Budapest offering quality tango dancing for 42 hours with international DJs and performances and workshops of world champion maestros. You enter six milongas and have a VIP table with a welcome drink. During the milongas (GRAND & CAFE), we offer a taxi dancer service for approximately one hour. You will also enjoy a welcome drink at every Grand Milonga.

If you want to participate in a workshop or take a private lesson we are happy to assist you in organising it and finding a partner.

Yanina Quiñones & Neri Piliu. Winner of the tango world championship and sub-champion. They performed at some of Buenos Aires most well-known Milongas and worked in some of the most important Buenos Aires theatres.

Emmanuel Casal & Yanina Muzyka

World Champions of the 2021 World Tango Stage Championship.

Dancers and teachers with 14 years of experience. After many years of work, study, and research, they have developed a new method of understanding tango through a sensitive and playful approach, preserving the essence of social dancing while updating communication and connection tools through play.

 

THE VENUE

The festival building is an exciting combination of the values of the past and modern technology. It has survived two world wars and the socialist period of the country as a cultural centre for factory workers and had a complete renovation in 2018. The dance hall has perfect parquet flooring and sound system and can accommodate 300 guests.

 

PROGRAM

Day 1. Wednesday (23.April)

Welcome dinner

Romantic dinner cruise on the Danube River. In addition to our enthusiastic band of musicians, folklore dancers dressed in traditional Hungarian costumes guarantee your absolute comfort and diversion.  This 80-mts sightseeing night cruise is an unforgettable way to explore the city’s most iconic landmarks, all while you are indulging in some of Hungary’s finest wine and cuisine — four-course meal

Day 2. Thursday (24.April)

Grand Budapest Tour by private bus and with a private tour guide – The Romantic side of Budapest.

Hungary’s capital is blessed with a bounty of art nouveau architecture, quirky ruin bars and gorgeous bathhouses replenished by mineral-rich hot springs. Budapest ranks among the 25 most romantic cities worldwide. Its gorgeous setting, lively music scene, impressive architecture, and charming cafés earned Hungary’s capital seventh place.

The dances are ARGENTINE TANGO – IRISH STEP DANCE – BREAK DANCING may seem completely different at first glance. In today’s world, everyone focuses much more on the differences between us rather than prioritizing the fundamental similarities that unite us. We aim to show the completeness and harmony that arise from both the differences and similarities of these amazing dances.

Pre–Party Milonga – the first night with international guests and local dancers. The location evokes the decadent, bourgeois style of the turn of the century. Perfect parquet flooring, red velvet upholstery and glittering chandeliers. An elegant start to the festival.

Day 3. Friday (25.April)

Guided tour at the Hungarian Parliament

The Parliament of Budapest is one of the main symbols of the capital city of Hungary. It overlooks the Danube River and it is a real jewel of architecture. It is located on the Danube shore of Pest, and it represents one of the most important symbols of the city. The structure is characterized by different architectural styles; from Neo-Gothic to Neo-Baroque and Neo-Renaissance. The building is 268 meters long on the east shore of the Danube, and it is 123 meters wide and 96 meters high.

4. Day Saturday (26.April)

Walking tour in the Royal Castle with a private tour guide – With cobbled streets, Ottoman-era echoes and grand Habsburg palaces, there are layers of history on Castle Hill. Below it is a 28 km-long network of caves formed by thermal springs. The Buda Castle is one of the main symbols of Budapest. It dominates the city from the top of Várhegy Hill, allowing enjoying an amazing view. Here you find art and history museums, churches, massive courtyards and iconic attractions like the Fisherman’s Bastion, famous for its fairy-tale exteriors.

 5. Day Sunday (27.April)

Visit a thermal bath.  A soak in a thermal bath might just be the quintessential Budapest experience. The city has more than 100 thermal springs to jet skyward, releasing some 40,000m3 of warm, mineral-rich water each day. Gellért Thermal Bath was built in 1918 in Art Nouveau style. Recharge in the therapeutic thermal waters and enjoy a stylish space. There are 10 pools of various sizes and temperatures, saunas, hot rooms and massage.

So Long – Dinner – In addition to the specialities of Hungarian cuisine, the menu also includes the restaurant’s main specialities, famous duck dishes, with excellent wines exclusively from Hungarian wineries. The live music and the elegant environment create a great atmosphere.

Please transfer the 50% advance payment within one week after booking or latest by the end of the registration. The rest of the amount is to be paid upon arrival. The price of the program is indicated on the website in Euro currency and NET rate.

Cancellation

Cancellation fees:

In case of forced cancellation of the holiday by the organisation or by the hotel:

– refund of the total amount minus 25€ pp for administrative and insurance costs.

Cancellation by participants:

– Until 4 weeks before arrival 100% of the pre-payment – minus our commission and actual expenses – of the ordered services we agree to return. A bank transfer fee and 25 EURO administration fee are charged to the guest. 

– From 14 days before arrival 0% of the prepayment of the ordered services we agree to return.

No-show: In case of a no-show, 100% of the whole period (the total cost of the package) will be charged.

Guest liabilities: In case of damage or loss in the Tango2Vacation’s partner’s property (hotel, restaurants, taxi service etc), the guest shall be held liable for the damage, if the damage has been incurred due to the conduct of the guest.

– after the start of the vacation: the full amount is due unless a last-minute replacement is found.

 Cancellation due to illness or cancelled flights is to be covered by the guest’s travel insurance, not Tango2Vacation.
