Our teachers – Judit & Lucas

“Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change”

Our passion is Argentine Tango. Our aim is to make you experience the pleasure of dancing.
With more than 20 years of trajectory, we do our best that our students live the beauty of dancing day today, in all our classes.

Our (short) story

2014 was the year when Lucas and Judit met and had their first but definitely not last dance together in Buenos Aires.  By that year, he had 22 years of experience in tango and Judit had been dancing for 14 years. They were coming from two very different backgrounds – Lucas was born in Argentina and trained by the most renowned masters (most importantly Mingo and Esther Pugliese, Gustavo Naveira and Mariano Chicho Frúmboli) and Judit was born in Budapest and had a strong classical dance background. Yet they both had the same passion for tango and decided to work together to transmit the spirit and knowledge accumulated by the vibrant energy born between them.

After just a couple of months of working together, they already performed in various milongas and festivals in Buenos Aires (as El Yeite Tango Festival and the prestigious C.I.T.A). They spend the greatest part of the year in Budapest where they have regular courses and from there they have the possibility to travel on the weekends to different cities in Europe where they perform and teach.

More about Judit & Lucas

Milongas

Milongas every night together on four different venues, scenic locations and live DJs. Depending on the Covid-19 situation, we organise the milongas together with local tangueros.

On our farewell milonga a special show will be performed by our teachers.

City tour

Private city tour by bus

Budapest is one of Europe’s great cultural capitals.

Over the past few decades, Budapest has re-emerged as one of the continent’s iconic cities. Split by the Danube and many bridges connect the two parts. Meet your guide at your hotel and begin the program in Pest.

Drive along the elegant Andrássy Avenue, the “Champs-Élysées” of Budapest. Continue to Heroes’ Square, representing 1,000 years of Hungarian history. Going through the historical Jewish district admire the neolog synagogue. Across the river, explore the more traditional Buda side of the city. Visit the Citadel on top of Gellert Hill and pulsate together with the city from the most iconic viewpoint. Arriving to the Castle District up on the hilltop, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church (the coronation spot of several Hungarian monarchs). Returning to your hotel driving along the riverbank you can take pictures of the beautiful Hungarian Parliament.

Walking tour in the city centre

Budapest always was a beautiful city but the real revival of the capital started after the political systemic change. Explore Budapest’s hidden gems by walking around the Jewish quarter with its triangle of the extraordinary synagogues and Andrássy Avenue.

From the Jewish quarter, we will walk to Andrássy Avenue, which is famous for its architecture and high fashion shops. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy a little time in one of the most famous café of Budapest.

Let the party begin – the Ruin Pubs

A new concept 20 years but today they’re a cornerstone of Budapest’s nightlife. Located in formerly abandoned buildings, primarily in Budapest’s Jewish District, ruin pubs provide unpretentious spaces in which to grab a drink, bite to eat or dance the night away. Buildings in varying states of decay were rescued and, rather than being totally renovated, ruin bars worked with their natural surroundings to create quirky and unique spaces. Accessories such as bathtubs, giant owls and even cars were added, with each bar creating their own style. Popular as a night out in Budapest, ruin pubs also offer a range of activities during the day, with many functioning as community spaces and live music venues. Having become emblematic of Budapest, ruin bars show no signs of diminishing in popularity. Where this trend will go in the coming years remains to be seen.

The original „Grand Budapest Hotel” – indulge yourself in the Gellért Thermal Bath

Have you seen the movie „The Budapest Grand Budapest Hotel” starring Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody? The hotel was based on Hotel Gellért standing at the Buda side of the Danube embankment, at the Liberty Bridge. The Gellért is the most grandiose of all the baths in Budapest.
The Gellert Bath and Hotel, built about a century ago, is a very special attraction in Art Nouveau style with its indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wave bath, Jacuzzi and sunbathing terrace.
The medicinal bath complex decorated with beautiful Zsolnay tiles has a complex physical therapy department and inhalation centre. The quality of the thermal water used for the treatments, that’s contained in the pools, is the envy of other medical spa hotels. The curative effect of the water sourced from the natural springs of Gellért Hill is due to its high calcium, magnesium, hydrogen carbonate, alkali, chloride, sulphate and fluorine content. It’s not surprising, therefore, that the Gellért is famous as a medicinal spa not just in Budapest but around the world!

Spine,fascia training / Massage & Beauty treatments

Spine & Fascia Training

Have you ever wondered what exactly does “being grounded”, “push the floor” or “activate your centre/core” mean? We hear them quite often at tango classes, but are we really able to understand these concepts in relation to our own bodies AND to incorporate them into our movements?

Body awareness and the ability to use our bodies in an efficient way with minimum effort is key to develop a soft and relaxed, yet stable and energetic presence on the dancefloor that will ensure both long years of pain-free dancing and a high level of comfort on your personal tango journey. Spine and fascia training combines sensorimotor exercises to sharpen your senses and to discover effortless movements with special exercises to treat your fascia – the connective tissue that weaves through your entire body and whose condition is responsible for the vast majority of non-specific low back pain.

Let’s empower our senses and work together for a more balanced, free and elegant dance experience!

Our teacher – Kata

Kata, besides being an avid tango dancer, teacher and organiser herself, is a certified Pilates and PortDeBras instructor with qualifications in spine and fascia training and more than 25 years of experience in historical dancing. She is dedicated to helping her students experience the liberty of movement let it be on the dancefloor, on a mat or in their everyday lives and to share with them the vital knowledge of physical self-care for a long, active and healthy life full of dancing.
