Our teachers

Laci ( László Budai) – organiser of the Grand Tango Ball

I have more than three decades of dancing experience behind me. I have already tried several genres. Modern dances, Jazz dance, Ballet, Competition dance, and finally I landed at Argentine tango. I was a competitor and also a judge of the International Fashion Dance Association (IDO) and won the title of European Champion, World Champion and World Cup winner several times. I studied modern dance teaching and choreography. I am the manager and the choreographer of the Argentine Tango Dance Theatre and the president of our Tango Dance Theatre Association. We also perform my plays, live tango performances, and tango shows at various festivals and stages.

In tango, I emphasize the systems approach and the importance of connection.

Nóri ( Nóra Fülöp)

I graduated as a ballet artist at the Hungarian Academy of Dance, and a bit later Argentine tango entered my life. As a member of the Argentine Tango Dance Theatre, I danced on stage for 14 years. During my dancing life, I represented the direction of tango nuevo for a long time. Together with Laci, we teach nuevo and the traditional tango for advanced classes.

Five evening milongas and a brunch milonga in four different venues together with local tangueros. Your dance partner escorts you and introduces you to the local dance community. Live Dj music and a perfect wooden parquet dance floor.

Private city tour by bus

Budapest is one of Europe’s great cultural capitals.

Over the past few decades, Budapest has re-emerged as one of the continent’s iconic cities. Split by the Danube and many bridges connect the two parts. Meet your guide at your hotel and begin the program in Pest.

Drive along the elegant Andrássy Avenue, the “Champs-Élysées” of Budapest. Continue to Heroes’ Square, representing 1,000 years of Hungarian history. Going through the historical Jewish district admire the neology synagogue. Across the river, explore the more traditional Buda side of the city. Visit the Citadel on top of Gellert Hill and pulsate together with the city from the most iconic viewpoint. Arriving at the Castle District up on the hilltop, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church (the coronation spot of several Hungarian monarchs). Returning to your hotel driving along the riverbank you can take pictures of the beautiful Hungarian Parliament.

Budapest by a panorama boat & fine dining

Budapest dazzles at night, so get a romantic new perspective on the Hungarian capital with this popular evening cruise. Glide down the Danube River past illuminated landmarks like the impressive Parliament Building, sparkling bridges, lively Pest promenade, Buda Castle, illuminated Liberty statue on the top of the Gellért Hill and many more…Kick off the festive, hour-long voyage with a candlelit dinner of a four-course finest food, live music entertainment and professional service – all on board of our panorama “bubble boat”.

Relaxing in Art Nouveau  style – refreshing & aroma massage

The hotel is based on Hotel Gellért standing on the Buda side of the Danube embankment, at the Liberty Bridge. The Gellért is the most grandiose of all the baths in Budapest.

The Gellert Bath and Hotel, built about a century ago, is a very special attraction in Art Nouveau style with its indoor and outdoor swimming pools, wave bath, Jacuzzi and sunbathing terrace. The medicinal bath complex decorated with beautiful Zsolnay tiles has a complex physical therapy department and inhalation centre. The quality of the thermal water used for the treatments, that’s contained in the pools, is the envy of other medical spa hotels. The curative effect of the water sourced from the natural springs of Gellért Hill is due to its high calcium, magnesium, hydrogen carbonate, alkali, chloride, sulphate and fluorine content. It’s not surprising, therefore, that the Gellért is famous as a medicinal spa not just in Budapest but around the world!

When to opt for the refreshing massage?

  • during times of increased physical activity
  • during times of non-inflammatory joint and muscle pain
  • if you wish to regenerate and rest
  • to relax your muscles

When to opt for an aroma massage?

  • if you have issues with sleeping
  • during times of increased physical and psychological stress
  • if you are new to the world of massage

The Hungarian State Opera House- one of the world’s most beautiful concert venues

… opened its doors to the public in 1884 and there can be no doubt that it is beautiful inside and out. The luxuriously decorated building is rightly a masterpiece of Hungarian architecture. The theatre was built in the Neo-Renaissance style with some baroque elements. During its existence, the opera house has seen a large number of famous musicians. Among them were: Gustav Mahler, who was the chief band director for four years, the musical director Otto Klemperer, as well as Béla Bartók, and Giacomo Puccini. In terms of acoustics quality and beauty, it is considered one of the best opera houses in the world, the sound quality of the opera house takes third place after Milan La Scala and the Palais Garnier in Paris.

Your Hungarian gourmet journey

When the cold gets to be too much, hearty Hungarian food, tasty wine, and delicious coffee are never far from reach to warm you up. We are inviting you to some fining, local restaurants to introduce you to our famous Hungarian cuisine.

Sunday – The Paris Courtyard (Párisi udvar) is one of the most beautiful and special constructions in the city centre, offering a stylish dining experience in an elegant setting of an early 19th-century historical building. The restaurant is located in the magnificent passage space of Párisi Udvar Hotel Budapest under the glass domes next to the reception area. The electric glass ceiling overlooking Ferenciek Square is unique probably in the world as well.

Monday The restaurant is a purveyor of modern cuisine that understands its roots while gazing out from Tokaj upon the world where the wine list offers numerous special selections exclusive to our establishment,… where service means painstaking attention to courtesy in every detail, where an artistically carved gilded wood interior plays an integral part in the concept that will make your evening an unforgettable experience.

Tuesday – Eat, breathe, relax, and be inspired – join the club! Chic, sexy, cosmopolitan, yet utterly local – They opened on a street market, far away from the tourist crowds in the heart of a quiet Buda neighbourhood in the summer of 1914. It has been the café to hang out and the spot to be seen ever since. Artists, authors, movie stars, designers, ballerinas, the rich and famous shared the space with local crowds over coffee, drinks, food and the decadent magic lingering around its walls ever since. The restaurant is serving simple, comfortable bistro dishes.

Travel to Hungary is once again unrestricted

The lifting of epidemiological entry restrictions means that from the 7th of March 2022, travellers can enter Hungary without the need for vaccination or immunity certificates, or any kind of test or quarantine obligation. Simultaneously, the lifting of the special rules of access for certain services and events means that vaccination certificates are no longer required for entry to indoor congresses or conferences, accommodation establishments, spas, sporting or cultural events, music and dance festivals, or outdoor events of any kind. The wearing of masks in public spaces is no longer mandatory, although some venues may still recommend their use.

Hungarian Currency

Hungary’s official currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Many stores and other places accept Euro* as well. However, the exchange rates at such places often don’t follow the most up-to-date bank rates, and this is not in favour of the customers. Be prepared to get the change in HUF. We recommend you pay in Forint, in cash or by credit card. There are plenty of ATM machines where you can get forint or banks near your hotel.

Depending on the program package you choose please, be prepared for outdoor activities – walking in the city – as well as semi-casual / elegant wear for eating out in restaurants. For the tango workshops, we recommend comfortable wear as well as bringing practice shoes. A little rock sack can is useful to carry a bottle of water and your workout dance outfit. To the local milongas you can wear a tango outfit as well as clothes that allow you to move freely. The Saturday and the Valentine’s Day milonga will be a bit dressier but not formal.

Electrical sockets (outlets) in Hungary are one of the two European standard electrical socket types: The “Type C” Europlug and the “Type E” and “Type F” Schuko. If your appliance’s plug doesn’t match the shape of these sockets, you will need a travel plug adapter in order to plug it in.
