Private city tour by bus
Budapest is one of Europe’s great cultural capitals.
Over the past few decades, Budapest has re-emerged as one of the continent’s iconic cities. Split by the Danube and many bridges connect the two parts. Meet your guide at your hotel and begin the program in Pest.
Drive along the elegant Andrássy Avenue, the “Champs-Élysées” of Budapest. Continue to Heroes’ Square, representing 1,000 years of Hungarian history. Going through the historical Jewish district admire the neology synagogue. Across the river, explore the more traditional Buda side of the city. Visit the Citadel on top of Gellert Hill and pulsate together with the city from the most iconic viewpoint. Arriving at the Castle District up on the hilltop, enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the Fishermen’s Bastion and Matthias Church (the coronation spot of several Hungarian monarchs). Returning to your hotel driving along the riverbank you can take pictures of the beautiful Hungarian Parliament.
Walking tour in the Buda Castle
We will see the most popular sights and more of the Buda Castle area which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We tell you the story of the Matthias Church, the Fisherman’s Bastion next to it, the Royal Palace of Buda, and the Hungarian White House and you will be able to admire the view of the Buda hills and the Pest side, too. Finally, there is a useful orientation at the beautifully renovated Castle Garden Bazaar.
At the end of the tour, you can enjoy your lunch in a chic, a cosmopolitan, yet utterly local restaurant near the royal castle.
Budapest by boat at night
Budapest dazzles at night, so get a romantic new perspective on the Hungarian capital with this popular evening cruise. On this special night enjoy the magnificent display of colour and light, Budapest’s night sky will be lit up by firework after firework in celebration of Saint Stephen. Glide down the Danube River past illuminated landmarks like the impressive Parliament Building, sparkling bridges, lively Pest promenade, Buda Castle, illuminated Liberty statue atop the Gellért Hill and many more…Kick off the festive, one and a half-hour-long voyage in a panorama boat with a welcome drink of sparkling wine and live music and enjoy the 4-course gourmet Hungarian food.
The happiest national holiday of the Hungarians – St Stevens Day
The 20th of August is always a very special celebration in Hungary. Think of it as a huge summer closing party, which has been extremely precious for the locals for thousands of years. It’s one of our oldest national holidays when we celebrate the foundation of our state, the state’s founder Saint Stephen, and the “festival of new bread”. It’s not only a national holiday but also a state occasion, so numerous official events also take place on this day. The swearing-in of new military officers, water and air shows, ceremonial speeches and the spectacular firework show are all among the traditional programmes; but more recently, a number of other festivals have come to be associated with this red-letter day.
The extraordinary elegance of Budapest’s New York Cafe
Step inside the New York Café, and you may find yourself wondering if you’ve accidentally entered the Hungarian equivalent of the Sistine Chapel. It was built in Italian Renaissance style, with sparkling chandeliers dangling from high ceilings adorned by spectacular frescoes, it’s one of the oldest cafes in Budapest, dating back 125 years.
It looks more like a lavish palace than a place to grab a slice of cake and a coffee. The menu is made up of Hungary’s most traditional desserts, including around 16 cakes, but of course, it’s not the cuisine that everyone comes here for – it’s the magnificent setting.
Spine training / Massage / Beauty treatments
Spine and fascia training
Have you ever wondered what exactly does “being grounded”, “pushing the floor” or “activating your centre/core” mean? We hear them quite often at tango classes, but are we really able to understand these concepts in relation to our own bodies AND to incorporate them into our movements?
Body awareness and the ability to use our bodies in an efficient way with minimum effort is key to developing a soft and relaxed, yet stable and energetic presence on the dancefloor that will ensure both long years of pain-free dancing and a high level of comfort on your personal tango journey. Spine and fascia training combines sensorimotor exercises to sharpen your senses and to discover effortless movements with special exercises to treat your fascia – the connective tissue that weaves through your entire body and whose condition is responsible for the vast majority of non-specific low back pain.
Let’s empower our senses and work together for a more balanced, free and elegant dance experience!
Our teacher – Kata
Kata, besides being an avid tango dancer, teacher and organiser herself, is a certified Pilates and PortDeBras instructor with qualifications in spine and fascia training and more than 25 years of experience in historical dancing. She is dedicated to helping her students experience the liberty of movement let it be on the dancefloor, on a mat or in their everyday lives and to share with them the vital knowledge of physical self-care for a long, active and healthy life full of dancing.
The price per hour depends on the number of participants. Please let us know if you are interested to take the class when you register.
Massage and Cosmetic Treatments ( hairdresser, manicure)
Would you like to get home after your tango retreat not only feeling more revitalised but looking as well? Please, allow us to recommend our private dermatology clinic partner. The clinic offers a wide range of aesthetic procedures and treatments from cosmetics to plastic surgery. They have many prominent patients; most Hungarian celebrities are attending the clinic as well as Eva Mendez.
Please let us know if you are interested and we are happy to provide you via email with further information.
